AzBox Americas is proud to announce the release of firmware version 2.20 for the AzBox miniMe American Edition.

It includes numerous enhancements and bug fixes based on user feedback and testing by our QA team.


New features and enhancements:
  • Enhanced GUI color scheme with 3D title bars.
  • Additional GUI customization options such as progress bar style.
  • Added ability to abort a blind scan in progress.  Please note that it does take a few seconds for the scan to abort when requested.
  • Added additional parameters in manual transponder scan such as Pilot and separated FEC and Modulation as separate parameters.
  • Added option to disable EPG parsing under the red key Event-List menu in order to improve performance.
  • Overall improved performance when changing channels.
  • Other miscellaneous enhancements.

Bug fixes:
  • Fixed issue where receiver's GUI was restarting after scanning or when changing to certain channels.
  • Fixed YouTube player to work with the new YouTube API.
  • Other miscellaneous fixes.

Please note that in order to flash this version 2.20 UFL firmware release, you must currently be running firmware version 2.03, 2.04 or 2.05 beforehand. As this is a UFL firmware release, you will have have the option to preserve user settings during the upgrade if you wish.
 
Available for download now via the Internet update function on network connected receivers or download on azboxamericas.com to install using your USB flash drive.

I think we have problem on Blind Scan. I scanned 16E a Ku satellite and it found 59 transponers no problem, the problem then it downloads only the highband channels and nothing in low band. Looking on the spectrum, the receiver sticks in high band on channel download not switching back to low band first.If you scan low band and then high band in two searches it's then fine. The Auto and manual channel scan are fine.
Shame otherwise this receiver is quite stable, and I love the new GUI!!

Thank you for your report and positive feedback on the new GUI.  Most satellites here in North America only use high band so will do some testing with blind scan on an Atlantic arc satellite with low band transponders and see if the issue can be reproduced.  The blindscan code was worked on a bit in order to support aborting a scan in progress so most likely a minor adjustment is required to make it scan both low and high band transponders in one scan.    Thankfully, I suspect that this issue should not be too hard to fix so will post here once we are able to resolve the issue.  In the meantime, please feel free to provide any additional feedback as some of it could be implemented in the next firmware version.


EDIT:  Was able to reproduce the issue you have reported.   Will keep you posted once we can resolve it in our development environment and release a new firmware version as soon as we can.

Thanks. I would like to see some Ka LOF's in the menu, The receivers does work in Ka I have downloaded some off 16E here using the Universal LOF.
The blind scan abort works just fine.
One other thing, the signal bars stayed in matrix dot after the initial reboot after downloading the new 2.20 with 'preserve user settings', but I did a factory reset and the new colour filled ones started to work, I just love them!!

No problem adding the Ka LOF's as it does not take too long to do so.  Will add LO's of 18050, 18750 and 21200 for the Inverto LNBF.  Any others?

Yes, forgot to mention in the release notes that some default GUI settings have changed due to the UI options added in the new firmware so unless you have specific GUI options that you don't want to redo again, it is best to do a factory reset of the user settings by going to System Settings -> Manage settings and then Reset settings to defaults in order to load the new default GUI options.  Please note that this will NOT reset any of your satellite settings or scanned channels.

Alternatively, you may manually change the signal bar style by going to System Settings -> User interface -> Progressbar and then set Progress bar style to "Colored bar"

Thanks. I think there maybe a couple of others, will post tomorrow. Will blind scan still be OK? I know that Enigma2 firmware only likes to blind scan in Ku or C. If you change the LOF in Enigma the start and end frequencies are never correct.
Had the MiniMe on all day, everything I do with is fine, the HDD was easy to add, no setting up and the web interface works just fine, this fast becoming my favourite box!!

Could you also add 17.350 for Ka? I don't know if this is possible but would it easier to just add a user setting so you could set it to what you wanted?
One other thing I noticed last night, when you play something you have recorded back there is no sound out ot the SpDIF output, but HDMI is fine. don't know if this meant or is a bug?

Another thing I have thought of for possible implementation, as well as a minimun SR level could we have a max too? that way some of the broadcast channels could be avoided in blindscan like 27.000, 30.000 etc, perhaps set it at 15.000?

Glad that this new firmware is running nice and stable for you.  Unlike Enigma2 which was designed for European subscription services where blindscan is not important, our firmware was developed with feed hunting in mind.  The blindscan in our firmware already supports getting the specific LOF value from the satellite to be scanned so the only thing we need to do is add new LNB types in antenna setup.

To be honest, the only thing that Enigma is better at are the plugins that it has.  However that won't be an issue for too long as we have already started implementing support for plugins.  ;)   This will allow for functionality to be added to the receiver from third party sources and anyone with time and programming skills.
