A storm that arrived postcard-pretty in the nation's capital Friday was morphing into a painful, even paralyzing blizzard with gale-force winds pushing heavy snow and coastal flooding. One in seven Americans could get at least half a foot of snow by Sunday, and Washington could see snowdrifts more than 4 feet high.

Four feet high snow in the nation's capital will certainly have some affects on us.  It is usually not a town known for its immediacy, so I am sure that this will pretty much bring things to standstill.  They are probably not really used to it either, so it is something much more significant than say for a city in the northern part of the country.  I hope that everyone is prepared and they are taking it seriously.

Yep, Washington is not known for a lot of snow so it certainly is going to be a challenge. I am not far from there. I would say we have about 10 inches here, and it will probably keep snowing off and on throughout the night. I am not really expecting much more than a foot though in my area. We have gotten some fairly strong wind gusts, so I am more than pleased that the internet and power have stayed on.

Internet and power are certainly higher priority that food right now. A foot of snow is reasonable. I hope you've got all the supplies you need.
